I’ll do a longer write up tomorrow once I’ve had more time to experiment with it. If nothing else the BRZ’s stereo has gone from “Adequate” to “exceptional.” Too many people underestimate what a better head unit can do for a car’s sound.

What model head unit did you get? About to swap out the stock unit in my 05 Cherokee Laredo for something aftermarket. Everything with CarPlay or android auto seems to cost an arm and a leg though

A head unit is definitly high on my list of needs, the audio in my FR-s just seems so bad sometimes.
I won’t be going Android Auto though.

Im also curious as to what model you got. The wife and I are looking to replace the double din in the explorer with something modern that has android auto in it

4100NEX? I just installed one into my Magnum and yes, its amazing. CarPlay is great, though will quit on my sometimes. Not sure if its Pioneer software or Apple that is having issues, hopefully they will have a firmware update this year to fix some bugs. Otherwise, great unit for the price.

Amazon.....I got my Pioneer 4100NEX with everything needed to install for less than the list price of just the radio.

Awesome man! My only disappointment is that this post wasn’t entitled getting better head (units).

Because you don’t use Android or you’re just not fond of the idea?
I tried to avoid it since I prefer WinPho, but aftermarket head unit interface design is awful.

4100 NEX. Pricey, but about the same as a non-AA unit with Nav, which AA does far better through my phone.

Both!
I am also on Windows Phone (Love it, after using a little iOS, the worst! and lots of Android / Blackberry)
Also, I am not fond of the idea of Android head units, as fast as tech evolves I’d hate to have a head unit on an upgrade cycle.
